As the largest of its kind in Canada, the Wolfe Islander IV was designed with considerable attention to environmental and operational efficiency. Its journey began overseas, built by the esteemed Damen Shipyards in Romania, and made its way across the ocean to serve the peaceful communities it was designed to connect.

This ferry not only represents a leap forward in eco-friendly technology but also serves as a testament to the commitment of the Canadian Ministry of Transportation and local communities to embrace green initiatives. The Wolfe Islander IV is a beacon of hope and a prototype for future maritime transport, demonstrating the practicality and efficiency of electric vessels in daily operations. This electric ferry is more than just a means of transportation; it symbolizes a path toward a cleaner, more sustainable future in marine travel.

Training and testing is underway for this vessel - hopefully it will start ferrying cars/passengers in the near future - local residents are not likely happy given it is taking a considerable period of time to put this ferry into regular service.
