🏄🏾‍♂️ EFOIL

E-foils are growing in popularity. This week we take a quick look at the LIFT4 e-foil by Lift Foils (Puerto Rico). The goals of the 7+ year old company include “Perfecting the feeling of flying…” said one of their cofounders (who built their products from scratch). The founders brought together their expertise in surfing and foiling with backgrounds in engineering and manufacturing to make an electric propulsion system.

Here are a few of the technical specifications:

  • Up to 30 mph (speed)

  • Up to 2.5 hours ride time

  • ‘Camber Pro Wings’ (their latest, smoothest, e-foil wing design)

  • Three board sizes (4’2” Pro, 4’9” Sport, and 5’4” Cruiser)

  • Elite hand controller (HD display)

  • Protective propeller shroud

🌊 WATERSPORTS

Last week Arc Boats announced moving in to a 150,000 square-foot factory and headquarters. Having raised ~$100 million in funding and sold out their first offering (the Arc One,) this move positions the company to deliver on its commitment to electrify the marine industry - with plans for a mass-market boat launching next year. The team of 80+ staff (and growing) will be working at this facility, located in the Los Angeles area, which is also home to other tech companies such as SpaceX and Rivian. And it would seem Arc Boats is moving fast, as the press release states “…our production line was up and running just hours after the relocation!“.
