🌊 WATERSPORTS
EVOA specializes in high-performance electric marine propulsion systems, bringing cutting-edge automotive technology to the water. Their flagship model, the E1 electric outboard, delivers 200 horsepower with the instant torque of an advanced axial-flux motor. This motor, developed in partnership with YASA (a subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz), is known for its compact size and high efficiency, weighing just 62 pounds for 100 hp and achieving 96% efficiency. The E1’s 800-volt architecture can scale power output from 100 to 600 hp, making it suitable for a wide range of boating applications. Check out this article for more details.
EVOA’s propulsion systems include motors, drives, batteries, and complete control systems. The Fortescue WAE-manufactured battery packs feature energy densities of up to 210 kWh/kg and are available in configurations ranging from 34.5 to 90 kWh. These batteries, built for the extreme demands of marine environments, can be connected in banks from 44 to 207 kWh, ensuring optimal performance for different boating needs.
The E1 system’s versatility enables it to power various marine setups, such as conventional inboards, V-drives, sterndrives, and the new EVOA outboards. The E1’s compatibility with multiple marine drive systems is complemented by the company’s proprietary Ecoflux software, which independently controls each motor’s output. Current production boats using EVOA’s technology include the 420-hp Chris-Craft Launch 25GTe and the 440-hp Supra EV550, both of which have shown excellent runtime and performance in field testing. For average watersports usage, the Supra EV550 can deliver around three hours of runtime on a single charge, which is comparable to other high-performance electric wakeboats on the market.
EVOA’s propulsion systems are built for speed, efficiency, and sustainability, with ongoing innovation in motor and battery technology. Their motors have been used in high-performance automotive applications, such as the Pike’s Peak International Hill Climb-winning Drive eO PP03 and the all-electric Spirit of Innovation aircraft by Rolls-Royce, showcasing their capabilities under extreme conditions.
⚓️ CONCEPT BOAT
The new Cheetah Wing electric boat, known as the "Sea Cheetah," is a wing-in-ground-effect vessel designed to operate just above the water's surface, utilizing hydrogen-electric propulsion. This innovative craft is being developed by Sea Cheetah Corporation in partnership with H3 Dynamics, a company specializing in hydrogen fuel cell technology.
The Sea Cheetah’s hydrogen-powered propulsion system offers a significant range and payload advantage over conventional battery-powered vessels. It can achieve speeds of up to 135 knots (155 mph) while flying under 50 feet above the water, allowing it to bypass traditional aviation regulations. Additionally, the vessel is designed for both marine and coastal transportation and can carry three times more payload compared to traditional boats and is ten times more fuel-efficient than comparable aircraft.

The partnership also aims to establish a decentralized green hydrogen fueling network called "Sea Cheetah H2Hub" and "H2Hub Micro," supporting rapid refueling for these vessels. The Sea Cheetah is expected to revolutionize coastal and island connectivity by offering faster and more sustainable transport solutions.
🏄🏾♂️ E-FOIL
Here is a brief reminder of e-foils that have recently launched.
Recent developments in the e-foil market have brought several exciting new models and features:
Fliteboard's 2024 Lineup: Fliteboard has unveiled its latest models, including the Ultra L2, the lightest production performance eFoil to date. Weighing just over 40 lbs, the Ultra L2 is designed for advanced riders seeking speed and agility. Fliteboard has also introduced the Flite AIR series, which offers a more affordable entry point for beginners, with inflatable construction for durability and versatility.
Lift's Fourth Generation eFoils: Lift has launched its fourth-generation eFoils with various board sizes and configurations. These eFoils come with new features such as the innovative Blowfish accessory, which can be added to smaller boards to increase stability for beginners and removed for a more performance-focused experience. This modular approach allows riders to customize their setup as they progress in skill.
Flite AIR Series: The Flite AIR and AIR PRO boards are designed to be lightweight and accessible for beginners while maintaining high performance. The boards come with either Nano or Sport battery packs, providing up to 90 minutes of ride time. The AIR boards are compatible with Flite’s advanced carbon components, making them easy to upgrade as riders become more skilled.
These innovations cater to both beginners and advanced users, highlighting the ongoing evolution in e-foil technology to improve performance, versatility, and accessibility.
